Lost luggage

Depart from: Istanbul   To: Budapest - On date: 04/Sep/2011 - Flight Type: Economy

Regarding luggage, I fully agree, real idiots, I have no better word. They are keeping my luggage in Istanbul, saying it would be sent with next flight, since then 5 flights have taken place! Now I can understand all of you who decided to avoid this airlines. I will be the one also.

Lost luggage second time

Depart from: Johannesburg   To: Baku - On date: 23/Aug/2011 - Flight Type: Economy

Having lost the luggage the first time for a week I was sure they would find it a year after on a transit flight. when I filed in a property irregularity report i was quite sure that the luggage will be found soon. 4 months now and still ongoing. they have been feedeing me crap telling to wait for a few day, then they decided to blame a south african company that i flew with on the first leg untill that company provided the evidence they trasferred all my luggage to the THY plane. then they started replying to the e-mails very late and telling every time to wait for 1 more week or 10 more days - still no result. then THY asked for the list of the items and their value - in a month time after constant emailing to them and calling they decided to compensate 500$ for a 4000$ worth luggage. i didn't accept this and tried to ask them for a proper compensation - absolute ignorance, no replies to constant e-mails or faxes. They really are terrible and i really hope not to ever fly with them again. Now we are trying to take a court action against them, at least they pay to the lawyers if not me.

The ticketing and sales team in the airport are evil

Depart from: istanbul   To: Beirut - On date: 28/Jul/2011 - Flight Type: Economy

The sales and ticketing team at the airport are rude and unhelpful. they have refused to talk to us and even to look our tickets because they have finished their duty and waiting for the next employees. I have approached them saying its an emergency and i need to change my ticket and i will pay for any amount as a difference. The staff answer was i don't care, my shift is over. i told her its an emergency and she said i really don't care. another guy came to the one at the window with an urgent question and guess what. she turned her back to him and refused to even answer him. at that moment i knew it was impossible to ask for anything. The flight was gone and had to stay one more night. I don't think i'll ever forget this experience. It is so funny, i wouldn't even imagine such a thing in movies.

Sick from Food

Depart from: IST   To: SMF - On date: 22/Jul/2011 - Flight Type: Economy

The plane was nice, but the service was poor as the attendants didn't come around much and generally ignored the call light. Worse, I have been sick with "Montezuma's Revenge" for two days (and who knows how many more) after eating the food on the flight. The other people I travelled with took different airlines home and are fine.

LOST LUGGAGE AND NO ONE CARES.

Depart from: Hatay   To: ist. - On date: 29/Jun/2011 - Flight Type: Economy

idiots at Turkish Airlines lost my luggage traveling from hatay-via Ankara to Istanbul. I had to catch an international flight. They promised to send me the luggage. Never sent. I had some one bring me the luggage and paid for extra luggage. Turkish Airlines never showed any remorse, and no compensation. Their motto is not really "Globally yours" It actually is "Globally UP yours".. So avoid both Turkish Airlines and ANADOLU Jet at all costs. let them go belly up. Now, that would be a relief wouldn't it.. All those errogant idiots can stay home.

Real messed up operation

Depart from: istanbul   To: izmir - On date: 16/Mar/2011 - Flight Type: Economy

The Turkish people are a hospitable people but Turkish airlines don't really show it. I was stopped from boarding a local flight with my boy when we arrived 30 minutes earlier. the desk operator said the computer refuses to let us board based on some profiling. I tried to complain to customer relations , they wasted my time and refused to do anything until the flight left, then gave m,e a choice between losing my ticket or paying half a ticket penalty to get on the next flight 3 hours away. I paid the penalty and filed a report then got into the flight. We ate a meal on the plane which resulted in severe food poisoning for me and my son and spent the next two days vomiting. Never got a response to my complaint from Turkish Airlines. If i had another choice i would have flew with them.

THE WORST AIRLINE!!!

Depart from: London   To: Entebbe - On date: 15/Mar/2011 - Flight Type: Economy

My experience with this airline was so bad that I have made it my personal mission to go on every review site and convince the world to choose another airline. The staff are shockingly rude. Having left my family stranded in Istanbul for 2 nights during the christmas holiday, the staff did little to assist us. In fact, the seemed to make every effort to make our journey an ordeal. We were lied to repeatedly and refused access to the airport hotel - which I later discovered had empty rooms. Staff were incredibly rude and when asked for assistance they pretended to not speak English - i later heard the same transit desk members having a conversation in fluent english, which enraged me!! save yourself some trouble - spend 100 extra pounds and fly with a better airline. Having spent £300 pounds on roaming charges trying to trace my lost luggage, i certainly would have been better off (financially and emotionally) flying with a slightly more expensive airline. If i had the option, i would be giving this airline a negative rating for sure!!

The worst customers service

Depart from: Tel-Aviv   To: Istanbul - On date: 17/Feb/2011 - Flight Type: Economy

I had (and still having) a very bad experience with Turkish Airlines. My camera was not admitted to the plane for security reasons and I was forced to leave it in the Tel-Aviv airport. The camera was subsequently transferred to the Turkish Airlines office in Tel-Aviv and from there....it mysteriously disappeared. It took me almost 3 weeks of constant calls and emails just to find out that the camera was in the TLV office after which it was "lost". My camera was Nikon D90 which costs more than 1000$ with some other valuable pieces of equipment inside of the camera case. I have never received any proper response from the Tel-Aviv office and only managed to find one reasonable person in Istanbul who was able to give me this information (please note that I myself don’t live in Istanbul, I live in Geneva). I submitted all the relevant receipts confirming the value of the camera to the airline. After 1 more month I received a very strange call from the Geneva office. The agent was unaware of the whole issue and she said that the airline would compensate me for the lost suitcase (!) 400$. When I explained that it was actually a new valuable camera and that I have given all the receipts to another agent, she was very surprised and promised to get back to me. No news. I contacted Tel-Aviv office again, asking to clarify who came up with the 400$ figure. The answer I got:"Tel Aviv office is not in charge of your complaint any more. Therefore, with all due respect, you should be in contact with the relevant office and departments that are in charge. Best regards, TURKISH AIRLINES - ISRAEL Baggage Claims Department" Their customer support does not exist and they don't value their customers. Once you have a problem it is impossible to solve it. They simply ignore you. Another interesting question is the "disappearance" of the camera. As things do not just disappear, I assume it was most likely stolen from the office. Conclusion is: Turkish Airlines hires highly unprofessional, irresponsible staff, who is capable of stealing expensive belongings of their customers.

not recommended

Depart from: Hamburg   To: Dubai - On date: 12/Nov/2008 - Flight Type: Economy

Never Ever try this airline. Customer Service is very very bad. I travelled with the Turkish Airlines from Hamburg to Dubai, the service is less than the average, the hostesses need training about "how to behave and talk with passengers". At the end they lost my baggage and the way they follow up such cases is the worst. it took 2 days till somebody answered the phone and gave me the right telephone number for the lost baggage section, it became a daily task from my side to follow up my baggage cus they never call back even if they say they will. The employees are totally not professional and only one person makes the connection with the head office and when he was on leave no body knew what to do. After 2 months they said they will pay 180$ for a lost baggage which includes clothes, gifts, digital camera and some personal belongings. my advice don't even think about Turkish Airlines.
