Good goes around on Delta

Depart from: ATL   To: LAS - On date: 07/Mar/2010 - Flight Type: Economy

I have flown on Delta probably more than any other person! They are great, every time I fly they never let me down. My latest flight was from ATL - LAS and it was great! The seats were comfortable and roomy, they had a nice recline and very good leg room. Flight attendants were very nice and professional. Being in first class you got a good pillow and blanket which came in handy. I will always fly on Delta!

amazing airline

Depart from: MCO   To: ATL - On date: 09/Jun/2009 - Flight Type: Economy

This airline is great I fly with them on a monthly bases. The last flight I had was from Orlando to Atlanta and it went smoothly. The cabin was clean and the seat were clean and comfortable. The crew was pleasant and professional. The snacks were good I like the cookies that they give(for free) also the cups you receive are fairly large. Also by the end of 2009 they Wi-Fi will be offered on all of Delta's domestic flight, other airlines offer it on a very select few of flight if any. I will always fly Delta.

Never again.

Depart from: RSW   To: BZN - On date: 23/Feb/2009 - Flight Type: Economy

I haven't even gone on the flight yet - and I'm already wishing I would have resisted the cheaper fares and booked a different airline. (my reviews to the right are based on earlier Delta flight experiences) When booking my two separate flights to different destinations, I spent a long time on deciding what times would work out best for me. That turned out to be a waste of time. I received e-mails from Delta, telling me that the respective flight schedules had been changed: first, I was informed that my first schedule would be delayed by 30min. Okay, not good, but no big deal. About two weeks later, I get another e-mail informing me that my second flight schedule will be delayed by FOUR (4) hours! Instead of leaving at 7am in the morning, the plane is leaving at 6am. Great. And yet, I won't be arriving earlier! No, instead of a 12.30PM arrival, it will be 4.30PM! This basically means that I will spend the extra time waiting at some airport. And why does Delta give you a choice of flights and times in the first place if they are going to change them this arbitrarily!? Moreover, both e-mails said that I wouldn't need to worry about re-confirming my flights, I was "all set". Being upset, I wrote an e-mail to the Delta "Customer Service" to complain about the delay. The answer: sorry and - by the way - because of the schedule change, you will have to call customer service to revalidate your ticket. What!!?? I thought I was "all set"...!? To make a long story short: next time, I'd rather pay the extra $50 before flying with Delta again.

Avoid like the plague

Depart from: Toronto   To: New York - On date: 14/Jan/2009 - Flight Type: Economy

Terrible, terrible, terrible. They cancelled 2 out of 2 flights on 2 different non-consecutive days after telephone confirmation only 10 hours before. The salt in the wound was that it was staffing shortages that caused the cancellations. The rebooking process is a nightmare (+2 hours on the telephone) and replacement flights 3 days later really throws plans awry. We spent 11 hours doing our final leg by bus rather than wait for the useless customer service to tell us the latest excuse.

Frustated Flyer

Depart from: SMF   To: EVV - On date: 01/Jun/2008 - Flight Type: Economy

I don’t think I can bring myself to fly Delta again as I have lost all respect for the airline. My wife and I flew to California from Indiana on May 8, 2008 and planned to return on May 20th. On the night of May 14th we received a call that my mother was seriously ill and we needed to return home as soon as possible. She passed away on May 17th. When I called Delta early the morning of May 15th they wanted to charge me $1,400 to change my flight – the original tickets only cost $477 and we had already used half the ticket. I strongly believe they initially quoted this high price thinking that at a time of desperation I would pay almost anything to get home. But after arguing for a few minutes and speaking to a manager they still charged me $806 to change the tickets which basically cost them nothing as they had seats open on the flights and the flights were the same time…just 5 days earlier than originally scheduled. I was also told on the phone that the $100 per ticket service fee could be waived in such circumstances – but after receiving the email confirmation I was charged the service fee and now they won’t even refund that money after I have sent them a copy of the obituary. I would strongly discourage anyone from flying Delta as they are not a respectable company and at this point will not even discuss my concerns. They have told me via email they will keep my future correspondence “on file” – which is basically a polite way of ignoring me. Luckily, we did make in home before my mother passed away, but the help we received from Delta was very little and very expensive.
